Known as the ENERGY STAR Energy Performance Indicator (EPI) for Pulp Mills, the latest benchmarking and recognition tool from ENERGY STARenables pulp mills to compare their energy performance against the performance of similar mills in the U.S.
The EPI normalizes for specifi c diff erences between mills and scores performance on a scale of 1 to 100. A mill that receives an “Energy Performance Score” of 75 or higher is considered to be among the most efficient in the U.S. and is thus eligible to be awarded the ENERGY STAR certification.
