Greg Arvanigian, President, Arvco Container Corporation
Appointed Member

Greg Arvanigian is President of Arvco Container Corporation of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Arvco is an Independent Corrugator with operations in Michigan, Indiana, and Florida. Greg received his BS in Political Science from Central Michigan University, in 1984. His career began in the Corrugated Industry in 1984 at, Arvco Container Corporation, the company founded by his father George, in 1971.

Greg held various positions, including Production Manager, Projects Manager, and Vice President prior to succeeding his father as President of Arvco, in 1989.

Heavily involved in the industry, Greg served 16 years on the Board of Directors of AICC, becoming the association’s Chairman in 2001. He also served on the Boards of ICPF and ICCA and has been an active member of FBA, serving on that association’s Independent Corrugator and Data Services committees.

Greg’s community involvement includes service on the Boards of, The Boy Scouts of America and Junior Achievement. He was honored by Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kalamazoo as their “Most Valuable Person”, in 2008.

In 2008, Greg was inducted into the AICC/Paperboard Packaging Hall of Fame.

Miles E. Fletcher, Corrugating Division Sales Manager, MarquipWardUnited
Elected Member – Current Division Vice-Chair

In 1987 Fletcher received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana. At Rose-Hulman he majored in Electrical Engineering and received a minor in Economics.

Upon graduating, he started his career with Marquip in Phillips, Wisconsin. As a Field Service Engineer he worked in various areas of customer support and product development. In 1991 he began working in the Sales Department and later relocated to Southern California to become the Western Regional Sales Manager.

In 2000 he moved to the Ward Machinery Company to become the Southeast Regional Sales Manager. Following the acquisitions and mergers of Marquip, Ward and United, he was promoted to Sales Manager for the Corrugating Division of MarquipWardUnited.

Fletcher became a TAPPI Member in 1991 and was recently elected to the Corrugated Packaging Division Council in 2009.

Ben Frank, Senior Manager Technical Resources, Packaging Corp of America
Chair of Fiscotec Committee (Fiberboard Corrugated Testing Committee)

Ben Frank manages the technical operations and central testing labs at Packaging Corporation of America's Technical and Development Center. He entered the paper and forest products industry after completing post-doctoral work in 1996, and has worked in packaging with PCA since 2001. In addition to authoring and co-authoring publications in the technical literature, Ben serves on the FBA's Technical Committee, has presented at TAPPI conferences, and is an active participant in the development of TAPPI's test methods, useful methods, and technical information papers.

Criag R. Hoyt, President, Buckeye Boxes Inc

Craig Hoyt is President & CEO of Buckeye Boxes, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. A 40-year veteran of the corrugated industry, Hoyt earned his BA in marketing from the University of Notre Dame in 1972, and took a sales post in corrugated packaging with Continental Can Company, where he stayed from 1972 through 1975.

In 1976 Hoyt joined the family business, Buckeye Boxes, which his dad had founded ten years earlier. He was named general manager in 1982. Following the 1985 acquisition of Flexible Packaging Company, Hoyt advanced to the position of President and CEO of Corrugated, Flexible and Real Estate in 1987.

A ten-year officer in the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters, Hoyt served as AICC president in 2000. He has been a TAPPI Member since 1999 and was appointed to membership on the Corrugated Packaging Division’s Council in 2003.

Paul Hrubesky, VP Sales, Fosber America
Elected Member

Paul Hrubesky is VP Sales for Fosber America, Inc. in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His career kicked off in 1978, when he accepted a position in structural design at Green Bay Packaging. From 1983 – 1988, he served as Production Manager at GBP’s Marinette Division.

Hrubesky joined Fosber America in 1988, and has held a series of posts including Regional Sales Manager, Sales Manager, and his current position, VP Sales. He is a member at both the local and national level of AICC, and of TAPPI.

Hrubesky has served as Past Chair, Production Committee for National TAPPI, and is currently Supplier at Large within the Corrugated Packaging Division.

Chris Krumm, VP Plant Operations, CorrChoice

Chris Krumm is Vice President of Operations for CorrChoice a Division of Greif. A 32 year veteran of the Corrugated Industry. Chris spent his early career in a variety of roles with the Langston Corporation and BHS Corrugated. He has been with CorrChoice since 2002.

Chris has been a member of TAPPI since 1990 and has served on both the division council and supplier advisory council. An undergraduate of Rowan University in Industrial Technology and Management and an MBA from Loyola University. Chris is also certified as a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma from Kent State University.

Ron Lund, Manager of Manufacturing Support Services, Georgia-Pacific Corporation

Ron Lund received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. He began his career in the packaging industry with Longview Fibre Company in 1971. During his 28 years at Longview, Lund held various positions, including Plant Manager for his 17 final years. Lund joined Georgia-Pacific in 1999 as Regional Manufacturing Manager for the bulk region. He moved to Division Manufacturing Manager in the fall of 2005, and recently assumed the responsibility of Manager of Manufacturing Support Services.

`Lund has been very active in his community of Rockford, Illinois. He has been involved at various levels in The Rotary Club, Rockford Sports Coalition, Career Education Taskforce, Project Welcome Home and Guilford High School Booster Club.

Since the late 1970s, Lund has been involved in TAPPI with the Chicago Section; he joined National TAPPI in 1984. His TAPPI activities include various committee and officer positions. He has moderated and presented several programs.

Daniel McGuire, Director Continuous Improvement Quality North America, Ingredion, Inc
Elected Member - Current Division Chair

Daniel M. McGuire is the current Director Continuous Improvement Quality NA (effective 5/1/2012) for Ingredion, Inc., a corn wet miller headquartered in Westchester, IL. Ingredion, Inc. was formed on 6/4/2012 after the combination of Corn Products International, Inc. and National Starch. In 1979, Dan earned his BS in Biology with Minors in Chemistry and Secondary Education from Siena College in Loudonville, New York. Dan began his career as a science teacher at the secondary level and quickly changed careers in 1981 into the area of papermaking.

In 1981 Dan began his papermaking career at Manning Paper Company (Lydall in 1985) in Green Island, New York. Dan held positions of increasing responsibility with Manning/Lydall as Research Technician, Sr. Research Technician, Development Chemist and ultimately Sales Engineer. After nine years with the Manning/Lydall paper manufacturing facility, Dan accepted a position with Albright and Wilson Americas as a Sales Representative specializing in papermaking AKD and Rosin sizes. This company was sold to Eka Nobel in 1990. In 1991, Dan accepted a position with PPG Industries, Inc., as Sr. Sales Representative, Paper Chemicals for the New England territory. In 1997, the Surfactants Division of PPG Industries was sold to BASF and Dan remained in the New England territory as Sr. Sales Representative. In the fall of 1998, Dan accepted the position of Area Director for New England for Corn Products International, Inc. In 2002 Dan was awarded the position of Senior Area Director for Easter Region and in 2005 was transferred to Chicago where he was promoted to the position of Business Director, Starch for Corn Products International., Inc. In 2009, Dan was promoted to the position of Director of Business Development for Industrial Business prior to his most recent appointment to Continuous Improvement. In this new role Dan has become a trained Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is responsible for execution and deployment of Continuous Improvement in the North America region for Ingredion, Inc.

Throughout Dan’s career he has been an avid TAPPI member joining in 1987. In 1992, Dan joined the local section in New York – Empire State TAPPI and continued to participate at the local level with programs and activities. Dan was the Chairman of Empire State TAPPI from 2004 – 2008 and continues to work on special projects for this organization. In addition to Dan’s continued involvement with Empire State TAPPI/PIMA, he has joined Chicago TAPPI which focuses on the corrugating business sector.

On September 1, 2009, Dan was elected the incoming Vice Chair for National TAPPI’s Corrugating Packaging Division Council where he served a two year term. In October 2011 Dan took over as Chair of CPD and will continue in this role until October of 2013. In addition to all Dan’s involvement with Local Sections and CPD he has been on the planning committee for the Annual National TAPPI Student Summit held each January. The Student Summit is a program that focuses on education of young men and women entering and studying the paper and corrugating industry. Education continues to be one of Dan’s passions in all that he undertakes.

Roger W. Mills, Manager Manufacturing/Engineering & Capital Investment, International Paper

Roger Mills currently serves as Manager of the Manufacturing/Engineering and Purchasing Group in International Paper’s Container the Americas, Industrial Packaging Division. A 40-year International Paper employee, Mills joined IP as Manufacturing Trainee at the Bay Minette, Alabama, container plant in 1973.

Prior to his 1994 move to the company’s operation’s headquarters in Memphis, he served in positions of Plant, Region and Corporate Engineer, as well as Plant Manufacturing Manager and Plant Manager. Mills served as Division Procurement Manager, and as Manager of Division Manufacturing and Technical Services, before taking his current post.

Mills is a 1973 graduate of Clemson University and has been a TAPPI Member and member of the Corrugated Packaging Division since 1997.

Jeff Pallini, President, Fosber America
Elected Member – Past Division Chair

Jeff Pallini is President of Fosber America, Inc., a manufacturer of corrugated machinery. In 1984, he earned his BA in psychology with a minor in business from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He began his career in 1984, with tissue machinery manufacturer Perini America, and held several positions there through 1990. He started as an installation engineer and progressed to customer service and eventually sales manager.

Pallini joined Fosber America, Inc. in 1992. He started up the US operation and has grown it to be one of the leading corrugated machinery suppliers. Fluent in Italian, Pallini travels internationally often.

He is a member of AICC at the local and national level. Pallini has held several local and national positions within TAPPI, including Supplier Advisory Chair and CPD Liaison. Pallini is the Past Chair of Chicago TAPPI and Past Division Chair for National TAPPI.

Jeff Quinn, VP Operations, The Haire Group

Jeff Quinn is the Vice President of Operations for Haire Machinery in Merrillville Indiana. He started his career with Haire in 1983 working summers in the shop for Tom Haire while attending college. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Ball State University in 1986, Jeff took a full time job in sales.

Over the past 25 years Jeff has been active in both Tappi and Aicc. He has been a Tappi Member since 1987 and has been on the Chicago Aicc Board since 1997.

Jeff and his wife Joy have 5 children and reside in Merrillville Indiana. The Quinn family is active in their Church and their kids Catholic High School (Andrean). Being a sports family - the kids keep Jeff and Joy on the move - all the time!

Fred Rossi, Director, Converting Capital Planning & Execution Engineering, RockTenn

Fred J. Rossi is the Director, Converting Capital Planning & Execution for Corporate Engineering, RockTenn

Fred began his career with Willamette Industries, and for 30 years held various positions for the corrugated division. He went on to work for Mead’s container division as the Director of Manufacturing, and then to Smurfit Stone Container as VP of Manufacturing Services. In Fred’s current position with RockTenn, he has the responsibility for capital planning and execution for the Container Division.

Fred has been a TAPP I member since 1987. He is a past chairman of the Production Committee, and past member of the FBA.

Mike Snowball
Director of Manufacturing
Boise Inc
Appointed Member

Michael (Mike) Snowball is Director of Manufacturing Services for Boise Inc. in Boise, Idaho. He served as Vice President, Paper and Packaging for LDI International/Liberty Paper and Liberty Carton Divisions, where he was responsible for the Liberty Paper and Dreamworks Coatings Solutions (a 100% recycled containerboard mill) and the box plant operations of LDI. Mike also served on the Board of Directors of L A Corr Packaging LLC.

Prior to serving as Chief Operating Officer for Atlas Container, Mike spent 16 years at The Mead Corporation. He served as President, Mead Containerboard Division and led the expansion of the Stevenson semi-chemical mill, converting operations and the machinery division. While at Mead, Mike also worked as a Senior Financial Manager reporting to the CFO and led strategy, compliance, operations, the Stevenson medium business and the converting/packaging plants.

Mike began his career in the chemical industry at PPG Industries in sales and marketing management. He earned an MBA in finance and operations management and a BSBA degree in business marketing and management. Mike is also a certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.

Beyond the manufacturing industry, Mike served as a director of AF&PA and the Fiber Box Association. He served on the Board of Directors for International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF). He is also active in the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC) where he has taught a number of classes.

Ed Stuczynski, Engineering Manager
Menasha Packaging Co, LLC

Ed Stuczynski is the Engineering Manager at Menasha Packaging Co, LLC of Neenah, Wisconsin. Ed began his career at International Paper working at the Georgetown, SC and Statesville, NC facilities in a variety of manufacturing roles including process improvement, maintenance, engineering and manufacturing management. In 2002, Ed went to work for Dufrene Machinery/RAR Electric as a project manager. Ed joined Menasha Packaging in 2006 as the corporate engineer and has the responsibility of capital planning and process improvement projects.

Ed is a 1992 graduate of the Ohio State University. He has been a member of TAPPI since 2006 and is currently on the Executive Committee of the Chicago TAPPI local section.

John O. Telesca, Consultant

John Telesca, Recently Retired after a 40 year career with 38 years in the Corrugated, Pulp and Paper Industry, formally the Senior Vice President, Engineering for the RockTenn Corporation located in Norcross Ga.

In 1972 Telesca received his Bachelor’s in Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. and later attended State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook while working full time, where he received a master’s degree in Industrial Management in 1979. In 1983 Telesca received his Professional Engineering License in the State of New York.

After graduation, Telesca served as an Engineering Officer in the U S Merchant Marine. Telesca then came shore side and worked with a consulting engineering firm doing physical plant maintenance management. In 1974, Telesca joined Southern Container Corporation (now RockTenn), beginning a 38 year career in the Corrugated, Pulp and Paper Industry. He has held positions of increasing responsibility and diversity including Plant Engineer, Corporate Engineer, Director of Engineering, Production Manager, Preprint Manager and Project Manager for the Green Field Paper Mills. Vice Pres. And most recently Sr. Vice President Corporate Engineering with RockTenn. Telesca also served as an Officer in the US Coast Guard Reserve at Captain of the Port New York for 10 years.

Telesca’s responsibilities have included more than a billion dollars worth of capital projects, including five green field box plants, numerous expansions, additions & modifications and three green field Paper Mills and a Water Treatment facility.

Telesca has been a TAPPI member since 1985 and has been a staunch volunteer and strong leader within the Corrugated Packaging Division and the division’s Engineering Committee. He has held every officer position for both the Committee and the Division. While Corrugated Packaging Division chairman, Telesca was instrumental in developing the successful “SuperCorr Expo” concept in cooperation with AICC in 2000. He has also served on the Division Steering Committee, the Planning Advisory Committee, and participated in the reorganization of the Corrugated Container Division. In 2006 Telesca received the TAPPI Corrugated Division Leadership and Service Award. He donated the accompanying honorarium back to TAPPI to create a scholarship for Engineering students. Southern Container and Rocktenn have continued to fund the scholarship in recognition of his service to the industry. He continues to feel it is one’s responsibility to give back to the Industry and Association that has given so much to him.

Ell Townsend, Operations Manager, Packaging Corporation of America

Ell Townsend is an Operations Manager working in Manufacturing Services for Packaging Corporation of America, Lake Forest, IL.

After eleven years of active in the United States Army, Ell began his career in the corrugated industry in 1992 as a shift supervisor. Subsequently, he has held positions as Plant Operations Manager, Technical Sales Representative, Production Manager, Site Manager, and Zone Operations Manager. In his current role he is responsible for various capital and process improvement projects in the company.

Ell has an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Minnesota, and in 1998 graduated from Indiana University with an MBA in Operations. He has written several articles on leadership published in Paperboard Packaging.

A TAPPI member since 1998, Ell has held leadership roles on the HR and Safety Committee, and the Scholarship and Awards Committee. He has been involved as host or speaker at several TAPPI sessions including safety, operations management, and diversity.

Ell lives with his wife Sue in Lakeland, Florida.

Steve Woodard, VP of Sales & Corporate Services, ARC International

Steve Woodard, Vice-President of Sales and Corporate Services for ARC International, is a 29 year veteran of the anilox roller and related industries. A 1976 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. degree in Business Administration, he is in his 26th year of service with ARC International and is responsible for the development and management of national account programs with corrugated, wide web and narrow web corporations. Throughout his career, Woodard has been active with TAPPI and FTA with committee involvement and technical presentations. In 2012 he received his certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt from UNC-Charlotte.
