Flushability: One of The Key Topics at Tissue 2017

From the consumer’s standpoint, the life cycle end-point for much of the tissue paper that they use is the toilet.  However, this is just the starting point for the wastewater treatment systems.  “Flushability” is a term that typically encompasses everything from the toilet to the wastewater system discharge (whether this be from a municipality treatment plant, septic, etc.).

At this year’s Tissue 2017 Conference & Expo to be held in Miami Florida October 3-6, 2017, flushability will be the focus of one of the sessions. The topic is becoming an increasingly important topic, including test methods used to assess flushable wipes and how they may (or may not) apply to tissue paper. ISO standardization work on paper ‘dispersibility’ and innovation in the area of temporary wet strength chemistry will be covered.  The session will include Q&A discussion with session presenters and the audience.

This 90-minute Flushability Session will be one of the heavy hitting sessions in a full conference program that will cover topics from economic forecasts by RISI, Water Usage sessions, Data Management, to Converting Efficiency.
