Distance Learning Masters Program
TAPPI and North Carolina State University’s (NCSU) Department of Forest Biomaterials Science and Engineering are working to meet the educational needs of today’s on-the-go workforce. Many pulp and paper professionals look to continue their formal training but may be frustrated because their location is not close to a university or they must relocate after starting a program but before completion. TAPPI and NCSU say that it’s time to turn the page.
The Distance Master of Wood & Paper Science degree is designed for wood products and papermaking professionals with a Bachelor’s degree and industry experience. The courses employ a range of learning modalities including CDs, DVDs and / or web delivery of actual classroom lectures give at NC State University.
The degree program has several unique features that allow candidates to:
- Interact with world-renowned faculty;
- Complete industry-relevant project work;
- Enjoy same academic quality as on-campus courses and degree at NCSU;
- Continue learning without the necessity of campus visits.
The Distance Masters of Wood & Paper Science is designed for individuals who are professionally employed and have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the pulp and paper, wood products or allied industries, such as chemical or equipment suppliers for wood and paper products. NCSU also welcomes students who just want to take a specific course from our distance education curriculum or pursue a program of study by distance.
