COURSE OVERVIEW
The Best Practices in Corrugator Operations Course teaches participants how to understand each element in the corrugating process, which will lead to higher productivity, better quality, and waste reduction.

Participants will learn the basics of how each component in the corrugator system works and how to run each component with optimum settings for peak performance. Both old and new equipment will be covered. Participants will develop an understanding of the critical properties of the raw materials that are vital to guarantee acceptable quality board. The course instructors will teach participants how the “Centerline Process” can be adopted in their plant and achieve a product that is consistent every day and on all shifts.

Participants will learn the causes of excess waste and how to measure and eliminate this waste.

COURSE FACULTY
The Best Practices in Corrugator Operations Short Course is taught by Rick Croker and John Troyke. Croker has been in the corrugated industry for over 30 years. He is the Director of Technical Services for Georgia- Pacific Corporation. Troyke is a Technical Service Representative for Georgia-Pacific Corporation. He specializes in corrugated trouble shooting and has been an instructor at TAPPI’s Corrugated Press Hands-on Workshop.

Guest speakers include: Pete Snyder, National Accounts, Harper/Love Adhesives; Stephen Schmidt, Vice President, Copar Corporation; James Moody, Manager, Packaging Testing Labs, Georgia-Pacific Corporation; and Craig Machamer, a Steam Systems Consultant.

CEUs
The Education Project Center of TAPPI has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1620 I Street, NW, Suite 615, Washington, DC 20006. TAPPI will award 2.4 CEUs to participants who attend at least 80% of the educational sessions and complete a final program evaluation.

TRANSPORTATION
A complimentary shuttle is available between the Holiday Inn Select and TAPPI Headquarters each day of the course as well as to and from the Doraville Marta station which will take you to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. Ground transportation is rental car, Marta or taxi. Free parking is available at TAPPI headquarters for attendees of the course. The Holiday Inn offers free parking other hotels may charge.

Cancellation Policy:
If you find that you have to cancel, your full registration fee will be refunded if TAPPI’s Registration Department receives written notification (fax acceptable at +1.770.209.7206 by (January 15, 2010). Please note: There will be a 50% refund for all written cancellations made after (January 15, 2010) but no later than 5 business days prior to the start of the conference (February 9, 2010). Understandably, after this time, no refunds can be issued. Substitutions, however, will be accepted any time without a penalty.

Refund:
100% - Cancellation received by (January 15, 2010).
50% - Cancellations received after (January 15, 2010)and no later than (February 9, 2010).
NO REFUND- Cancellations received after (February 9, 2010).
