Back by popular demand, Joel Weldon will deliver two separate keynote addresses. Joel has been bringing business and industry leaders new perspectives on leadership, sales, customer service, and personal improvement for over 30 years. He has been hired by more than 2500 groups, from all across North America, to energize audiences and turn ideas into action.
On Tuesday, October 30th Joel will be delivering his speech “The Invisible Horses” (How Change Brings You Opportunity); this opening session will help you open your thinking to new ideas and get maximum benefits out of today’s breakout sessions. You’ll learn how best to bring these new ideas back with you to your organization and get people on your team to embrace them. You’ll see how fast change is happening and how you can best adapt to these changes. And yes, you’ll have a lot of fun in this opening session!
Joel will be speaking again on Wednesday, October 31st delivering another one of his world-famous motivational speeches, “Find Out What Everyone Else Is Doing…And Don’t Do It” (How To Be Even More Innovative And Creative); this session will help you generate new ideas and new concepts to take back to your organization. You’ll learn how to use 5 Trigger Words, 3 Idea Stimulators and a 4 Word Test to decide which ideas you should actually put into action. Your mind is full of amazing ideas … just begging to be released. This session will help you release them, and you’ll have a lot of fun in the process!
The program topics will again concentrate on Corrugating/Corrugating Maintenance, Converting/Converting Maintenance and HRD/Safety. Several of the most popular presentations will be repeated from 2006, with improvements as suggested by attendees, and there will be new topics as well. The duration of each presentation will be extended to 40 minutes, which will allow for questions and more interaction with the instructors. Please plan to bring your problems and ask the experts to help you solve them!
The popular What’s New Technology Showcase session will be held on Thursday morning. The Showcase will be comprised of nine select 10-minute presentations that will allow presenters to spotlight a product or service developed within the past two years. The product or service which you are presenting must currently be in use somewhere in the industry. Commercialism is allowed in this session and it is an excellent opportunity for suppliers to present before a large audience of industry peers.
Special hour-long presentations will be added to the technical program this year, focusing on Industry Innovations. Topics include Lean Manufacturing, Kirt Patel, Gerogia Pacific, Robotics, Dave Ahrendt, Alliance Machine Systems and Digital Printing, Phil Dempsey, Poteet Printing Systems. These presentations will be free to all box plant employees, even if they are not paid conference attendees. So plan to bring your problems and ask the experts to help you solve them!
In addition to the “hands-on" small group sessions, several hot topics will be addressed in technical paper presentations. These papers will cover issues affecting companies every day, as well as subjects critical to the industry in the near future. Topics for these presentations will be finalized in the next few weeks.
