An Introduction to Polymeric Colorants, 2002 Decorative and Industrial Laminates Symposium

Polymeric colorants which are sold under the Liquitint®, Reactint®, and Cleartint® trade names by Milliken Chemical have found numerous applications in many thermoplastic and thermoset polymer systems. The reasons for this include their compatibility with the resin systems, high water solubility in aqueous formulations, easy cleanup, low staining, improved handling and consequently fewer human health and safety concerns.

This paper will compare and contrast polymeric colorants with other common colorant systems and highlight those areas where polymeric colorants have a distinct advantage.
