The Influences of Properties of Low Basis Weight Papers on Print Fidelity and Lamination, 2002 Decorative and Industrial Laminates Symposium

Influenced by the paneling industry Sauder chose to try to use thin decorative papers for the manufacture of Ready-To-Assemble furniture in 1978. Particleboard and Medium Density Fiberboard were substrates in development. Sauder’s sense about the union of these materials is that the physical properties of the papers and substrates were really co-developed. The topic will be confined to the influences of the paper’s properties on print fidelity and laminating qualities.
