TAPPI’s NET (Nonwovens Engineers & Technologists) Division is now planning a 2010 Nonwovens Technical Conference this fall. Additional details will be announced later this spring.

The Nonwovens Technical Conference advances nonwovens science and manufacturing applications through peer-reviewed papers and collaborative activities. Its primary beneftis have been providing delegates with access to important technical knowledge and to a network of people who can leverage that knowledge.

Texas Tech University System, USA has awarded the Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Research Award for TTU to Seshadri Ramkumar, an associate professor of nonwovens and advanced materials at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University. Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Research Award is the highest award given by Texas Tech University System to a faculty member who has excelled in research. TTU System awards a top researcher at each of its three component universities, TTU, TTUHSC and Angelo State University with this highest research award. This award is highly competitive and the candidates are evaluated at several levels by committees before the final award is made.
