Trees for Tomorrow is a natural resources specialty school which hosts workshops of one to five days in duration. It is a private, nonprofit natural resources education center, serving people of all ages by offering unique workshops in forestry, water, wildlife, soils and recreation, all conducted outdoors in the heart of Northern Wisconsin's forests. Its mission is to teach vital facts about renewable resources; to help participants understand the need for proper resource stewardship; and to foster responsible resource decision-making. Forestry and wildlife field studies in the northern Wisconsin forest ecosystem are featured. Professional teaching staff consists of foresters and biologists. Trees for Tomorrow hosts 5,000 students annually from Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa. Also offers programs and workshops for teachers, students and the public. Makes presentations to school classrooms, community groups, scouts, etc. , and offers timberlands and tree farm tours.

The Paul Bunyan Logging Camp is open mid-April through September 30. From mid-April through Labor Day, hours are 10:00am to 4:30pm. After Labor Day to September 30, Tuesday-Friday 1:00-4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 4:30pm. Tours are normally one hour long. Offers a hands-on introduction to Wisconsin's logging history with videos, displays, and artifacts, as visitors walk through the camp's log buildings.

The Forest Products Laboratory offers a general public tour on Monday-Thursday at 2:00pm. Advance reservations are encouraged by calling 608-231-9200. Maximum group size is 15. Tours are for college-level students and above, and consist of a 15-minute slide show and then a tour of the Engineering Mechanics Lab. The Forest Products Lab participated with the Forest Service in the 1997 Boy Scout Jamboree. It also sponsors the papermaking station for elementary-aged students at the Madison Children's Museum.

Offers tours to school-aged children and the general public. Tours must be made at least one week in advance. Ages are preschool to adult. Length of tour is 15 - 30 minutes. Also makes presentations on papermaking, forestry and/or recycling to schools and community groups. Participates in Earth Day, county fair, career days at local schools, and energy workshops for Girl Scout merit badge requirements.

Conducts tours for students age 13 and older. Tours include a mill video and papermaking presentation. Length of tours is 1-2 hours. Needs 2-3 weeks advance notice. Also makes presentations to schools and community groups, and participates in career days and other community activities. Classroom presentations to grade schools are also conducted with advance notice.
