Up-Cycling Low Grade Recovered Papers for High Strength Applications, 1999 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

In response to the long term general fiber raw material shortage, the more widely available recovered paper "Mixed Waste" is of great interest. Unfortunately, generally lower strength, increased contamination, and increased ash content are problems which must be addressed.

Various process steps are discussed to affect the removal of dead fines material which are not capable of bonding together with contaminants and stickies and to balance yield versus strength development.
