Written by Gunnar Bergman

This book is a revised and updated translation of the original Swedish text published in 1987, produced for the Swedish Corrosion Institute’s Plastic Research program. It contains real-world data on the deterioration, failure rates, and maintenance records of many plastics, rubber, and masonry materials in the mill. It presents practical examples and evaluations of process equipment corrosion, and then gives advice and recommendations for solving these problems. In this revised edition, metals and ceramics are also discussed in order to compare the various materials. This edition includes certain failures and relevant conclusions that might be considered mechanical in nature or which may be related to operational troubles, rather than solely to corrosion. 1995. 182 pages, soft cover.
