Suzano has evaluated a new grade of biolatex binder, EcoSphere® 2202 from
EcoSynthetix Inc. in two of their paper mills, on their MB5 paper machine, the MPII off
machine coater and their MB6 and their Embu Mill paperboard machines. They have reported
on the 2 coated paper applications and 4 paperboard applications, which were developed
on 3 machines. The first application is a coated free sheet application that is precoated on
a metering size press (MSP) and then topcoated on an off-machine blade coater. The
second application is a paperboard application that is double coated on the top using a
blade/blade combination and single coated on the backside using a rod coater.
