Being named a TAPPI Fellow is quite an accomplishment. In fact, less than one percent of TAPPI’s members have this title. It is a designation given to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service contributions to the industry and/or the Association.
For those in the NET (Nonwovens Engineer and Technologists) Division it may come as no surprise to learn that in 2009, the Division’s own Peter D. Wallace was awarded this special recognition for his long-time contributions to the industry. Better known as Pete, he started in the industry in 1975 and migrated from the wood products segment to the resins arena. A TAPPI member since 1980, Pete has several areas of expertise: technical service research and development, marketing, and business unit management in the resins industry.

The Lifetime Technical Achievement Award is presented each year by INDA’s Technical Advisory Board (TAB). This award is given to those individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to the growth of the industry. Citing an impressive record of achievement in academia and the nonwovens industry, INDA specifically noted Wadsworth's establishment of TANDEC at University of Tennessee and the research and products that were developed there that have changed the industry.
In addition to being recognized at the upcoming International Nonwovens Technical Conference, Wadsworth will also be added to the Nonwovens Hall of Fame on the INDA website.
