Our company recently issued mobile telephones to all employees in my department so that we can theoretically stay in touch with the office while traveling on business. Unfortunately, my manager now calls my cell phone at all hours of the night, on weekends and office holidays, while I am on vacation, and even when I’m at a scheduled doctor visit. If I don’t answer right away, she leaves repeated voice mail messages requesting an immediate response. Shouldn’t I at least be paid for time spent working off the clock?
