Ten Toscotec Tissue Machines Now Running at Vinda’s Sanjiang Mill in China (9/06/2016)

Vinda Paper (China) Co., at its Sanjiang mill, Jiangmen, has started up two new Toscotec (Lucca, Italy) machines, TM 9 and TM 10. Both machines are AHEAD-2.0M, with a design speed of 1,800 m/min. TM 10 is the 21st machine supplied by Toscotec to Vinda.

Resolute's Calhoun Tissue Operation on Track for Q1 2017 Startup (9/06/2016)

Resolute Forest Products Inc., Montreal, Que., Canada, today (Sept. 6, 2016) announced completion of commissioning of the first tissue converting line at its state-of-the-art tissue facility currently under construction in Calhoun, Tenn., USA. The remaining two lines will be commissioned by year-end.

Hayat Kimya Starts up New Valmet Tissue Machine in Egypt (3/02/2017)

Hayat Kimya's Tissue Machine (TM 6) started up at the company's new mill in Egypt in mid-January. It marked the sixth successful startup based on the same team from Valmet and Hayat Kimya working together in cooperation. Valmet has previously installed five new machines and provided an extensive rebuild of Hayat's TM 1 in Izmit, in Turkey. The new line in Egypt will add 70,000 metric tons of high quality tissue to the company's current production of facial, toilet, and towel tissue.

SCA Joins Supply Network of Premier Healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (9/29/2016)

SCA, Philadelphia, Pa., USA, a global hygiene leader and forest products company that produces the Tork® brand of Away-from-Home (AfH) professional hygiene products, will join the supply network of Premier, Charlotte, N.C., the second largest healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) in the U.S. Effective Oct. 1, 2016, SCA will provide Tork paper towels, tissues, napkins, and dispensers to Premier's network of approximately 3,600 member hospitals and 120,000 alternate site locations, including urgent care, assisted living, and medical facilities.

Orchids Paper Relocating Headquarters to Nashville, Tenn. (3/15/2017)

Orchids Paper Products, a producer of private label tissue, announced that it is relocating its headquarters from Pryor, Okla., USA, to Brentwood, Tenn., near Nashville, creating up to 25 jobs in Williamson County.

Papelera Starts up New GapCon Tissue Machine in Argentina (3/08/2017)

At the end of February 2017, the Italian company GapCon tissue S.r.l. (since 2017 a member of the PAPCEL Group of companies) commissioned a new paper machine EconSOFT™ ERS (Energy and Resource Savings) for production of tissue paper in the paper mill Papelera Samseng S.A. in Argentina. The paper machine is operated at the company’s pilar plant in Buenos Aires. The paper machine is equipped with the unique and innovative concept of shoe press EconPRESS™ NexT (New Extended nip concept for Tissue).

SCA to Discontinue Hygiene Business in India (1/03/2017)

SCA, Stockholm, Sweden, will discontinue its hygiene business in India. After four years after entering the Indian market, the company said that “our conclusion is that profitability cannot be achieved within a reasonable timeframe.” SCA prioritizes growth in selected emerging markets such as China, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Russia, where the company already holds strong market positions. Emerging markets accounted for 32% of SCA's net sales in 2015.

Lee & Man Starts up Four Tissue Lines within Three Months (1/31/2017)

Four Valmet (Finland) supplied tissue lines have been successfully started up at Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing's Chongqing mill in China, within three months. The new lines, designed for production of high quality tissue products with low energy consumption, were all producing sellable paper from the start.

SCA Strengthens U.K. Tissue Business (1/30/2017)

To meet the growing demand for high quality tissue and strengthen the product offering in the U.K., SCA is investing in a through-air drying (TAD) machine at its tissue plant in Skelmersdale, U.K. SCA has also decided to close an older tissue machine in Stubbins and signed an agreement to divest its tissue plant in Chesterfield to Sidcot Group Ltd.

Twinsaver Group to Install New Toscotec Tissue Line at Kliprivier Mill (11/10/2016)

Twinsaver Group, a manufacturer of tissue products in South Africa, today (Nov. 8, 2016) announced that it will proceed with a R500 million investment in the country's local manufacturing sector by investing in a new, state-of-the-art tissue production line at its Kliprivier operations site in Gauteng, South Africa. The line, supplied by Toscotec, Italy, will start up in the last quarter of 2017.
