Solutions for Bearings in Paper Machines Webinar

Online Webinar
Wednesday, December 13, 2023 to Wednesday, December 13, 2023

Papermaking Technology and Operations Committee

12PM - 1PM (ET)

Paper machines present challenging operational and environmental conditions for rolling element bearings. Large paper web widths, wide spans and high speeds require high precision bearings that can accommodate misalignment. The high moisture content in the environment of the wet end section and the high operating temperatures and rapid heating in the dryer section place stringent requirements on bearing designs, seals, and lubrication requirements. This webinar will present an overview of bearing applications and typical damage modes experienced by bearings in paper machines. Solutions for challenging conditions such as moisture contaminated bearings and large lightly loaded bearings susceptible to skidding will be presented. Repair options for damaged bearings will be reviewed.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Upon satisfactory completion of this seminar, participants should be able to recognize the modes of bearing damage in paper industry application.
  2. Upon satisfactory completion of this seminar, participants should be able to relate possible Bearing Solutions to challenging application conditions in Paper Machines.
  3. Upon satisfactory completion of this seminar, participants should be able to assess the benefits of a comprehensive Bearing Reconditioning Program for their facility.
