New Webinar April 9 - The Science Behind Energy Efficient Homes
TAPPI’s newest webinar, The Science Behind Energy Efficient Homes, is being held on April 9 and will present an overview of energy efficient homes and their role in energy consumption.
Energy efficient homes reduce unnecessary energy consumption resulting in lower greenhouse gas emissions and demands for nonrenewable resources. This one-hour webinar will define what makes a home energy efficient, and discuss steps to achieve energy efficiency with topics that include:
- What is a Carbon Footprint?
- Energy source and use
- Electromagnetic spectrum and Infrared Radiation
- Implication of the Sun’s path over a house
- Energy efficiency and windows
- Indoor air quality
The webinar is being taught by Sanjiv. R. Malkan, Ph.D., CText FTI, PMP, Engineering Principal from Hunter Douglas. Dr. Malkan holds a Ph.D. in Textiles and Polymer Science and has worked over 30 years in textiles, nonwovens and adhesives. He has more than 50 publications and presentations, authored five book chapters, and holds five U.S. patents and four design patents.
