Columbia Pulp Announces Two New Executive Hires (8/9/18)

Columbia Pulp (Dayton, Wash., USA) has appointed Mike Schock as its VP and Tony Waldo as production manager for the Lyons Ferry facility in Wash., USA and the pilot plant in Pomeroy, Wash.

Columbia Pulp is North America's first tree-free pulp mill. The Lyons Ferry pulp plant will provide 90 jobs to surrounding communities, and the recently completed Pomeroy facility will employ eight people.

Schock has more than 35 years of experience in paper making and paper converting and previously worked at Sonoco in South Carolina.

Waldo spent more than 20 years in the nuclear and pulp and paper industries, and has experience managing laboratories, product development, engineering, and software development at companies like Boise Cascade in Minnesota and Washington River Protection Services.

"We’re extremely pleased to make these additions to our teams," Columbia Pulp CEO John Begley said. "Mike Schock and Tony Waldo will contribute tremendous experience and talent to Columbia Pulp.
