Toscotec Completes Second Rebuild Project at Ranheim Paper & Board in Norway
Ranheim Paper & Board successfully completed a comprehensive dryer section rebuild on their 64-year-old PM5 paper machine in Norway, partnering with Toscotec to achieve all production capacity targets on schedule. The modernization project replaced the existing long shaft drive system with advanced silent drive technology, upgraded electrical controls, and optimized felt loops to improve machine cleanliness and operational efficiency. The rebuilt machine now produces greyboard and coreboard at basis weights from 220 to 500 gsm with enhanced speed capabilities, demonstrating how strategic equipment upgrades can extend asset life while meeting growing market demand in the competitive Northern European packaging sector.
