Experience running a pilot paper machine, gain practical knowledge, and confidence with this workshop offered in partnership with TAPPI. A pulp and paper mill is a complex, interconnected and massive engineering marvel. Now, you’ll be able to learn how the processes work and why. This workshop provides a broad overview of the basic concepts in pulp and paper manufacturing, including pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting. You'll explore how various processes impact paper properties through both lab exercises and operation of a pilot-plant paper machine. This introductory-level workshop is appropriate for anyone in technical and non-technical roles.

This course provides a solid foundation in the development and application of aqueous-based barrier coatings for paper and paperboard packaging. Through a practical approach, participants will gain a clear understanding of the chemistry, application techniques, and performance attributes, including live demonstrations of test methods, of these environmentally friendly coatings.
