Use of a Laser to Measure Dust Generated off a Paper Machine Webinar
Webinar 1 in Series
Dust Webinar Presentation Deck
This online webinar is the 2nd of 4 webinars focused on defining best available technology to deal with paper dust generated off tissue paper machines and converting assets. This online seminar will focus on measuring the height of fugitive paper dust off tissue paper machines and converting assets using a Class 2 red semiconductor laser. This dust measurement tool is offered as both a mobile unit (housed on a cart) and a hard-wired unit attached to a paper machine/ converting asset. Hard-wired units will tie into the PM’s DCS or HMI in Converting. Both designs have a powerful PLC that collects trial or on-going data, can be accessed wirelessly or directly via a laptop. Height measurements are taken every 10 minutes (adjustable), recorded, then wirelessly transmitted or electronically sent via an Ethernet IP to a DCS / HMI. Once measured, a blast of compressed air is used to clean the measurement space and sight glass of the laser. Due to concerns of overheating on both the laser and PLC, a vortex cooler is deployed to maintain cabinet conditions below 110F. Graphical output by grade
