Headbox Design and Operation for High Quality and Profitability
Webinar
Monday, February 24, 2025 to Monday, February 24, 2025
12:00PM - 1:00PM (ET)
Headboxes are one of the main equipment of a Paper Machine that give the basic properties to the sheet of paper. Most of these properties will not and cannot be altered with the rest of the machine and that is why it is so important to understand how each of its section can impact sheet quality.
This Webinar will review the headbox main components, their designs and their effects of sheet quality like:
- Cross Machine Distribution of the fiber and their Orientation (TSO)
- Machine Direction Weight Variation
- MD/CD Ratio (TSI)
- Cross Machine & Machine Direction of Moisture
- Formation and Floc Size
We will also review some of the typical issues they can introduce and how best to resolve them.
Who Should Attend:
- Asset Manager
- Paper Machine Superintendent (and Assistant)
- Quality Manager
- Paper Machine Technical Support
- Machine Operator
Learning Outcomes:
- Better understand how to Operate Headboxes and Optimize paper quality
- Identify the source of some of the most common paper quality issues cause by headboxes.
