NCSU Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics (March)
Experience running a pilot paper machine, gain practical knowledge, and confidence with this workshop offered in partnership with TAPPI. A pulp and paper mill is a complex, interconnected and massive engineering marvel. Now, you’ll be able to learn how the processes work and why. This workshop provides a broad overview of the basic concepts in pulp and paper manufacturing, including pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting. You'll explore how various processes impact paper properties through both lab exercises and operation of a pilot-plant paper machine. This introductory-level workshop is appropriate for anyone in technical and non-technical roles.

Advanced Bonding Course: An In-depth Look at the Bonding Process
This course helps students increase their understanding of the corrugated bonding process, including factors and variables that impact bond performance, determining proper bonding settings, glue line analysis, combined board caliber and process centerlining. It also helps students identify the causes of warp and how to correct warp with coated liners.
