Eco Guardian Receives $1.5M Government AMIC Grant to Support Packaging Mfg. in Aurora, Ont.

Valmet Advances Toward Net-Zero Production with New Electric Boiler Investment in Finland
Valmet has made an investment in its Yrittäjänkatu fabrics production unit in Tampere to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve energy efficiency. A new three-megawatt electric boiler will be installed at the factory and integrated into the power plant’s heat production. The total value of the investment is EUR 2 million, and it is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2026.

SCA Aims for 40 Percent Lower Emissions from RoRo Vessels
Starting on 1 October 2026, SCA will implement changes to its sea transport using RoRo vessels (Roll-on/Roll-off) by reducing speed, increasing vessel load factors, and adjusting how the ports in Umeå and Piteå are used. One effect of these changes is that emissions from the vessels will be reduced by approximately 40 percent.
