Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics-NCSU, open

This hands-on workshop on the NC State campus provides a thorough overview of pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, stock preparation, papermaking and converting. The course will consist of presentations each morning and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon, including a paper machine run and all of the major operations used to make pulp and paper. All major pulp and paper tests are also performed hands-on. Students receive a course notebook with approximately 400 pages of reference material.

WMU Fiber Recycling Course-Kalamazoo, Michigan USA, open

TAPPI is pleased to partner with Western Michigan University (WMU) to deliver training that will help you broaden and update your knowledge and understanding of the basics of recycled fiber collection, processing, use and market drivers. This is a 2.5-day course takes place in Kalamazoo Michigan on WMU's Engineering Campus. This training is designed for the newcomer to the paper recycling industry, as well as those with experience.

Coating and Lamination in Packaging Applications-University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, open

It is designed for those working in paper converting, coatings, printing, plastic films, and packaging, especially in flexible packaging. The content will be particularly beneficial to engineers, technicians, chemists, scientists, sales representatives, and customer service representatives. Representatives of companies that supply papers, paperboards, adhesives, inks, polymers, plastic films, and aluminum foils will also find this curriculum very useful. Participants will spend the morning in lecture and the afternoon in a hands-on lab experience on state-of-the-art equipment. Lunch and morning refreshments will be included on both days.
