Featuring more than a dozen expert guest speakers, the program combines in-depth technical sessions with tours of the WMU Paper Pilot Plant and specialized laboratories. Attendees will explore key topics such as pigments, binders, additives, formulation development and characterization, rheology, coating equipment and processes, coated products and applications, packaging development, and barrier materials, with barrier coating technology integrated throughout due to its strong industry relevance.

This introductory class features morning classroom sessions followed by afternoon sessions of guided, hands-on exercises operating the UW-Stevens Point Fourdrinier pilot paper machine. You will work on a team for the exercises with supervision by UWSP staff.
