According to a study done by Pew Research Center, about four-in-ten working women (42%) in the United States say they have faced gender discrimination. As you read this statistic, you may be thinking you can relate or know others who can. Considering this, TAPPI’s Women in Industry (WIN) team is pleased to share that we’ll be hosting our next WIN Café on this important topic.
Join us for an open discussion where we’ll share stories, provide tips, and come together with the goal of empowering women to overcome bias and take action in the workplace. The café will be hosted virtually on Wednesday, December 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET. The event is open to all and free of charge, so bring a colleague or two along!

MFC Robust Grinding Modules & Wet End Jet Applicator—A Path to Disruptive Advantages from Biomaterials – Webinar (Free)

A presentation of FiberLean MFC (micro-fibrillated cellulose) technologies and know-how for paper and boardmakers will offer insights into disruptive, robust grinding technology, the centerpiece of MFC modules in place—fully commercialized and scalable. You will also learn about surface application methodology to convert brown board to whitetop without a machine rebuild. In addition, the presenters will comment on the original MFC mix of minerals and MFC and the more recent advances with pure MFC and MFC from recycled fiber.
MFC recipes and know-how will be discussed for mills facing raw material cost increases and additive shortages while at the same time driven to produce higher value grades. This includes lightweighting, alternative natural barriers, and other sustainability advantages. Per Svending (Project Leader FLoT) and Tom Larson (Head of Business Development, Paper, and Board) will present the MFC journey to commercialization, and potential for widespread growth.
