PEERS 2023 Call for Papers Open

Known as one of the leading technical conferences in the industry, TAPPI’s Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference, November 5-8, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, offers a comprehensive technical program which emphasizes new methods and best practices to help mills optimize operations and reach sustainability goals. The Conference provides an excellent forum to learn from industry experts in a presentation setting, as well as engage in peer-to-peer discussions during panel sessions, committee meetings and roundtables.

PEERS 2023 organizers have issued an Invitation to Present seeking abstracts that provide reports or case studies on new advances in technology, process improvements, and fundamental process knowledge. Industry professionals interested in speaking at the Conference should submit an abstract by March 17, 2023 to TAPPI's Speaker Management System. Suggested topics Include:

IBBC 2023
PEERS will be co-located with TAPPI’s International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC). Focused on new technologies using renewable materials from biomass to produce chemicals, polymers and fuels to support the growing bioeconomy through sustainable biorefinery, IBBC is the perfect platform for sharing knowledge and expertise. Conference organizers are currently seeking subject matter experts to speak at the conference and invite them to submit an abstract by March 17, 2023.

Student Poster Session and Competition
Students are invited to submit abstracts on topics for innovative solutions to compete in a poster session refereed by industry experts. This competition is the perfect opportunity for students to gain exposure and expert feedback on their research projects relating to process improvements in consumption of energy, water and raw materials or the creation of new sustainable products. Student research, senior design or internship projects are welcome. Abstracts are due by August 21, 2023.

Hot Topics Breakfast and New Technology Showcase
Conference organizers are also accepting proposals for the PEERS/IBBC Hot Topics Breakfast and New Technology Showcase. Know of a hot topic that is currently affecting the industry but isn’t quite ready to be turned into a technical paper? Or, want to share a new technology with the industry? Submit a brief proposal by August 21, 2023. If accepted, the submitters may be invited to lead round-table discussions on the topic or present a short introduction of the technology. Technical papers are not required for the Hot Topics Breakfast or New Technology Showcase sessions.

Abstracts/proposals for the Student Poster Competition, Hot Topics Breakfast and New Technology Showcase should be submitted to TAPPI's Speaker Management System.
