This session will deliver an overview from the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) featuring Aaron R. Phillips, ARMA Vice President for Technical Services and Miriam Higginbotham, ARMA Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Director. In addition to a brief industry update and outlook, Mr. Phillips will discuss current, relevant issues related to asphalt roofing materials in building codes and product standards, including initiatives related to wildland urban interface fires and wind resistance of roofing materials. Ms. Higginbotham will share pertinent HSE updates including ARMA’s engagement on the EPA Risk and Technology Review (RTR) for Fiberglass Mat and monitoring related to formaldehyde in asphalt roofing.
