He specializes in PFAS treatment and has published and co-authored several papers and conference presentations on PFAS treatment. He is also well versed in advanced treatment technologies, treatment of emerging contaminants, general water quality, and water reuse.
Giffe Johnson, Ph.D. Sr., CMHE NCASI
TRC – PFAS Regulatory impact; CERCLA / TSCA / MCLs / Pending surface water and groundwater rules
Giffe Johnson, PhD. has been a member of the NCASI team since October 2017. Prior to joining NCASI, Dr. Johnson served as a faculty member of the University of South Florida’s Toxicology and Risk Assessment program and Assistant Director of Research for the Center for Environmental and Occupational Risk Analysis and Management. Current areas of interest include bringing the best science to bear in the development of National Ambient Air Quality Standards, improving the science behind the development of Human Health Water Quality Criteria, and participating in the development of emerging regulatory practices for per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS).
Dan Curry, TRC
PFAS Regulatory impact; CERCLA / TSCA / MCLs / Pending surface water and groundwater rules
Dan has his Environmental Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has been active in the Forest Products Industry his entire career and attending TAPPI events for 38 years including leadership roles in the Environmental Committee of over 15 years. For 12 years he was an Environmental Engineer and Supervisor and Safety Supervisor at various mills with Champion International. Since 1997 he has been providing Environmental Compliance and risk management consulting to the industry except for two years where he was the Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Evergreen Packaging. Recently Dan has been chairing the North Carolina Manufacturer’s Alliance, Contaminants of Emerging Concern Committee, leading that group in providing comments to the State of North Carolina on the development of PFAS Groundwater and Surface Water Standards.
