Matthew Klassa is a junior at North Carolina State University. He is a dual degree student, majoring in Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering with a minor in Cross-Disciplinary Leadership Studies. He gained work experience in the industry with Domtar Paper at their Plymouth, N.C., facility and interned with International Paper in Newport, Ind. He is also a proud member of the NC State TAPPI student chapter, and serves as the chapter’s Programs Chair, handling company dinners and panels.

Outside of classes, he enjoys running marathons and serving as a youth leader in Scouting at the district level. He is extremely grateful to all of the TAPPI scholarship donors who make programs like this possible.
