Alex Boyd

Winner of the Process Control Division Scholarship
Alex Boyd is a sophomore at Western Michigan University (WMU) majoring in chemical engineering and paper engineering. He is a member of the TAPPI Ts’ai Lun chapter. Boyd is currently working as a teaching assistant. This summer he will be interning as a process engineer for WestRock at their Battle Creek, MI facility before moving to Catawba, SC to work for New Indy Containerboard as a paper machine process engineer.
After graduation, Boyd plans to pursue employment as an regional process control engineer focusing on large scale projects involving instrumentation improvement and control loop design for chemical, pulp and paper companies.
