Winner of the Corrugated Packaging Division Bobst Scholarship

Dan Sommers is a junior at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in chemical engineering and paper science and engineering. He spent the last year working a co-op at ND Paper’s Biron mill, where he assisted in the rebuild of the B25 paper machine to produce recycled liner and medium grades. He will be working an internship at the ND Paper’s Sturtevant box plant this summer. He intends to pursue a career in corrugated packaging upon graduation next spring.

Dan is an Eagle Scout and an active member of the Stevens Point chapters of AICHE and TAPPI. In his free time, he enjoys playing, writing, and recording music, playing disc golf and tennis, fishing, hunting, skiing, and spending quality time with his friends.
